What are the differences in physical structure and personality types between English working lines and German working lines, which are bigger, I know German working lines are quite willfull, but what else is there thats different.
Many thankies

i have never owned a eng working line dog, as far as i know their isnt such a thing really most eng bred dogs dont have the drive to work.

i have a WG working line bitch whos is fantastic but very high drive, energy, yes she has her own mind but willful not at all, its about being a partnership. Brave? yes hard temperment? yes social? yes, she is a amazing dog all in all x

IMO no not all german line dogs are working dogs but may be good sport dogs for me as a working dog person who works their dogs *not just doing sport* i want a dog with a high defence drive and prey drive, a lot of sport ppl only need a nice high prey drive as they dont need their dog to spark up for real.

different lines produce diff things hun, i LOVE pure DDR lines as these are pure working lines. but even tho my kiera has a few showlines waaaay back in her ped most are working police dogs.

but english lines now a days IMO are just pets, couldnt do a days work if they tried i had a rescue eng line bitch. and to be honest she couldnt find her arse if she farted . they really dont have the drive for it and are a lot bigger and heaver which i dont like i want a fast agile dog.

does this make sence

Thank you makes perfect sense and tha answer i was looking for,
Basically my boys are as different as night and day, Dalton has the drive, always wanting to do something, what we doing newxt mum attitude, left to his own devices he is a horror, loves doing jobs, carrying his treats back from the petshop in his back pack, We are working on his prey drive right now, and its working, just basically ragging him around then training so he is always busy apart from his puppy time ofcourse, i cant explain him properly really, but he loves training retrieval, everything you can think of, and after the odd challenging day he is doing so well, walks watching me all the time, so focused. He is my first GSD.
Now Kane is another story, has little concentration, and is very happy with playing, a cuddle, food and a walk. he would much rather chase butterflies in the field , you call him he comes bless has a treat then gets ingrossed in some ants in the grass haha.
Anyway, just wanted to make sure my thinking was correct in assuming Kane is much more of a pet bless, and has no desire to work.
Dalton loves any form of training, activity, apart from puppy time and his naps
Iknow little about breeding lines, but just wanted to make sure my thinking was correct

xx

Aw thank you very much for your time, Sounds just like Kane , he is such a lovely boy, so happy all the time loves everyone and everything, but has no umph really bless, he is 8 months and already heavier than Dalton who is 10 months but Dalton still looks bigger. I think its because Kane is lazier and doesnt like the training.
He is like Dolly day dream he really is, will do all the basics, but i dont think he will ever go much further than this.
But then again, i dont think i could cope with two like Dalton
Thanks again for your time

xx
